A Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria de Esporte e Qualidade de Vida (Sequav), promoveu, na noite de quinta-feira (16), o Congresso Técnico da Taça Manchester Paulista 2025, no Teatro Municipal “Teotônio Vilela” (TMTV). Na ocasião, a Sequav apresentou aos clubes inscritos todas as regras da competição municipal.
O campeonato municipal da Quarta Divisão do futebol varzeano é o mais democrático de todos, pois é aberto a clubes com estatuto social, devidamente registrados em Cartório e de acordo com a Lei Municipal nº 8.474/2008.
Nesta temporada, o torneio tem início no dia 26 de janeiro e contará com a participação de 83 equipes, cujos representantes souberam detalhes quanto à organização dos grupos, quantos times se classificam para a fase seguinte, entre outros do regulamento.
O torneio será organizado em 20 grupos, sendo 17 deles com quatro equipes e três com cinco equipes. Classificam-se os campeões de cada grupo, bem como os 12 melhores segundo colocados para a fase 16 Avos de Final. As equipes que chegarem às semifinais terão acesso para a Taça Baltazar Fernandes 2026.
